Warangal: TPCC former president Ponnala Lakshmaiah has demanded the State government taking up of works related to double bedroom houses in complete manner.

Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao after launching the works in last January has promised to come to Warangal after four months to inaugurate the houses. The works were still at initial stages even after nearly 18 months of laying foundation and no one knows when they would be completed.

Though about eight lakh applications were submitted by the persons belonging to below poverty line families, only 1,300 houses were sanctioned. The houses proposed at Laxmipuram, Garib Nagar and Deendayal Nagar were cancelled.

Being a CM, K Chandrashekar Rao has laid foundation stones for the houses in ‘shikam’ lands, which was against the law. In addition to that there were no sufficient funds for the construction of the houses, Lakmaiah pointed out.

He objected the decision to remove and modify items of works related to the houses being constructed at SR Nagar and Ambedkar Nagar at district headquarters while responding to a news report published by The Hans India on Wednesday.

“The government should release enough funds for the construction of the double bedroom houses and see that they are complete in all respects. Handing over houses without flooring, doors and others is not proper,” he added.
