New Delhi: Taking a serious note of the recent ISIS activity in Hyderabad, BJP national president Amit Shah has directed the Telangana unit of the party to launch a "Save Hyderabad" campaign at once and without further delay.

This directive came up during the BJP core meeting here on Friday in which state leaders of the party led by state president K Lakshman were present to discuss the party's strategy to corner the ruling TRS in the state.

"Take on the TRS government head on. More important to us is safety of our country. We have seen recently how the ISIS module tried to destroy the unity and integrity of the country based at Hyderabad.

This anti-national activity seems to have the tacit support of the AIMIM leadership which had gone ahead and offered legal aid to the terrorists. Further, the TRS government is going soft on the MIM and taking no effort to handle terrorism.

Hence, our first and foremost duty should be to deal with it. Gear up people to fight for the safety of Hyderabad. Let it not fall a prey to divisive and terror forces." This is the message given to the state unit of the BJP by its national president.

The state leadership should have launched a movement as soon as the news broke out, Amit Shah felt and advised them to alert not only the party cadres but also the people about the danger.

Amit Shah, who reviewed the Telangana affairs, said it was time for the party to put up a massive fight against the terror forces and their supporters against whom the state government was going soft.

These remarks have come from the party president when former state unit president G Kishan Reddy reportedly sought action against AIMIM president Asaduddin Owaisi for extending legal aid to the suspected terrorists.

Amit Shah was reportedly of the view that as society was vulnerable to political polarization on this count, it would be better that the BJP expressly address the national concern to expose the nexus between the TRS and MIM.

"There are charges of corruption. There are charges of inefficiency in administration. Then there are charges of nepotism. Don't leave anything and don't spare any effort. The unit must work to strengthen the party right from the grassroots level.

Also own up all the Central programmes so that the local government does not hijack the benefit. Plan people's movements and expose the chinks in the armour of the TRS," Amit Shah told the leaders.

The Telangana BJP president was accompanied by MLC Ramachandra Rao, former president Kishan Reddy, Nagam Janardhan Reddy and Indrasena Reddy. Union Minister Bandaru Dattatreya and BJP general secretary Muralidhar Rao were present.

Setting the tone and tenor for ‘Target-2019’, the national leadership assured the state unit of its full cooperation and support in all the plans and programmes.

Amit Shah assured the leaders to take part in party programmes in the state any time to boost the morale of the cadres. Welfare issues, farmers’ problems and failures of the government in implementing the manifesto promises must be highlighted, he said.
