​Narsampet/ Warangal: Two students and a cook have sustained severe burn injuries due to a boiler pipe leakage occurred at Telangana State Social Welfare Residential School Hostel in Narsampet in the district on Saturday.

The injured were identified as Mahendar, the cook and his son Akshith, studying 6th class and Varakumar, a 9th class student. The incident occurred while cooking breakfast during early hours.

The students accompanied the cook, who was repairing the leaking boiler valve and it suddenly came off gushing out hot water and steam on the trio causing serious burn injuries leaving them writhe in pain.

They were shifted to Narsampet area hospital and then admitted to burns ward at MGM Hospital in Warangal. The doctors said the cook sustained 35 percent burns while both the students sustained 40 percent but out of danger.

Meanwhile, students have complained that poor maintenance of the hostel was the main reason for the accident. Though the leaking valve of the boiler was causing problems since long time the officials failed to repair it and it resulted in the accident.

In another incident in Hanamkonda, two students and a warden have suffered electric shock while putting up a flexi board at Shivani Junior College. According to the college director Chandrashekar, the warden, Ashok, students Nitin and Mahesh suffered the shock accidentally while fixing the board.

They were admitted to a private hospital and were out of danger. Police registered cases in both incidents.
