​Nizamabad: Students belonging to the Progressive Democratic Students Union (PDSU) held a demonstration at the dharna chowk in the town on Tuesday demanding the release of the PDSU leaders who were arrested at the Sri Chaitanya Junior College in Hyderabad.

They also burnt the effigy of the College management. Addressing the gathering, city PDSU president Saundarya alleged that the management of the Sri Chaitanya College was illegally collecting money from the students indiscriminately and when the PDSU leaders went there to demand an explanation, they were forcibly arrested by the police.

Moreover, false cases were foisted against them, she lamented. Saundarya warned that the PDSU would intensify their agitation, if their leaders were not released immediately.
