Sania skirts Haritha Haram, stumps all
Ace tennis player and Telangana State brand ambassador Sania Mirza has left everyone wondering about her conspicuous absence from the flagship government-sponsored programme Telanganaku Haritha Haram.
Hyderabad: Ace tennis player and Telangana State brand ambassador Sania Mirza has left everyone wondering about her conspicuous absence from the flagship government-sponsored programme Telanganaku Haritha Haram.
Many celebrities including Congress senior leader and Telugu film hero Chiranjeevi, Nagarjuna and corporate honchos have been actively participating in the plantation programmes to create awareness on the importance of protecting environment.
Sources said that the government contacted Sania and invited her to attend the programme in the city, but she did not respond positively citing that she was preoccupied with training camp and other private programmes, including release of a book on her biography-‘Ace against Odds.’
“She is missing from the prestigious ‘Haritha Haram’–a mammoth plantation programme–launched by Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao recently wherein government plans to plant 46 crore saplings this year alone in the State,” the sources said.
Government has roped all the State government machinery including Ministers to make Haritha Haram a grand success. Governor ESL Narasimhan also took part in the community plantation programme in Medak district recently, so did all Ministers, MPs and even MLAs.
