Koilsagar lift-1 pump to fill all major lakes across 11 villages

Mahbubnagar: The Koilsagar Lift Irrigation project Pump-1 is expected to fill all the major lakes and ponds across 11 villages in Narva Mandal. Inaugurating the Koilsagar lift irrigation project at Nagireddypally village, the Irrigation Minister Harish Rao said, under Koilsagar, the government is releasing water to irrigate 20,000 acres and by next year it will be able to enhance it to 50,000 acres.

“We have already spent Rs. 1000 crores to complete the pending works under various lift irrigation projects this year. We will spend another Rs. 700 crores by next year and provide water to 8 lakh acres during next Kharif,” informed the irrigation minister. The minister, during his one day tour in the district, took part in the inauguration programmes of various lift irrigation projects .

Major among these are inauguration of pump houses at Nettampad Lift phase-2, Rajiv Bheema at Kothakota mandal, Koilsagar Lift Phase-2 at Tileru village. Talking on the occasion the irrigation minister said, “The successive governments in united AP could provide irrigation water to only1 lakh acres during the past 30 years, while we could do succeed in providing more than 4 lakh acres of irrigation water in just 2 years.”
