Hyderabad: The Telangana government is preparing a wishlist to be submitted to Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his first visit to the state on August 7.

The wishlist, according to sources, includes schemes for which the state would like to get central assistance like Mission Kakatiya, Mission Bhagiratha and promotion of energy and infrastructure development programmes, which are being taken up in a big way by the government.

According to official sources, Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao was confident that he would impress upon the Prime Minister by explaining to him about the initiatives taken up by the government.

The government would also submit a report explaining the investments that have been flowing into the state in IT, Pharma and other sectors.

KCR would present the government’s thrust given to irrigation by allocating lion’s share of the budget allocations. Taking this opportunity, he would seek the Centre’s assistance to push forward the other development projects in the aviation, railways and highways as well.

KCR would also explain in detail to the Prime Minister his government’s achievements in the welfare sector and the measures taken towards achieving ‘Golden Telangana’.

It may be recalled that KCR had already urged the Centre to give nearly Rs 30,000 crore central assistance for Mission Kakatiya and Mission Bhagiratha besides funds for highway development and long-pending ITIR (Information Technology Investment Region) project.

Chief Secretary Rajiv Sharma is said to be holding series of meetings with top officials to finalise the wishlist of the Chief Minister.

Modi would be launching the state's flagship Bhagiratha programme aimed at providing piped drinking water to every household at Gajwel in Medak district and also address a public meeting.

He would lay foundation stone for two additional 1,600 MW power plants by the National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC) and fertiliser plant at Ramagundam in Karimnagar district.
