KCR praises Modi in Hindi.
To draw the attention of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Union Ministers, Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao on Sunday delivered most of his speech in Hindi at the public meeting held for the launch of Mission Bhagiratha at Komatibanda village in Gajwel constituency in Medak district.
​Hyderabad: To draw the attention of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Union Ministers, Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao on Sunday delivered most of his speech in Hindi at the public meeting held for the launch of Mission Bhagiratha at Komatibanda village in Gajwel constituency in Medak district.
The Chief Minister explained the assistance extended by the Centre to the newly-formed Telangana State in the last two years and also the issues with regard to the development of Telangana State pending before the Union government.
The Chief Minister not only confined himself to explain the Centre’s help but also praised Modi in Hindi and prompted people to clap in support of his speech. As people in the region are also familiar with Hindi, KCR wound up his speech in Hindi only.
Meanwhile, Modi received standing ovation from nearly one lakh people at the public meeting held in the Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao’s home constituency, Gajwel.
The public meeting was organised to launch the State government’s flagship programme, Mission Bhagiratha, by the Prime minister.
On the request of Union Minister of State for Labour Bandaru Dattatraya, legislators, State and Union Ministers and officials stood at their seats and clapped for one minute to mark Modi’s maiden visit to Telangana State after its formation.
At the end of the meeting, KCR felicitated Modi with a silver coated peacock memento and also presented a Gujarati cap and star-studded red shawl to the Prime Minister.
KCR also presented mementoes to Governor E S L Narasimhan and all the Union Ministers present at the meeting.
