Mahbubnagar: With the pilgrim rush at pushkar ghats growing, the district administration is paying greater attention on the safety of devotees who come for a dip in the River Krishna.

As part of the safety measures, District Collector Dr T K Sridevi inspected the Paspula Ghat on Saturday and said all measures were being taken to manage the heavy rush of pilgrims during the 12-day Krishna Pushkaralu in the district.

“We are giving utmost importance to the safety of the pilgrims and sanitation. As part of this, 1,062 swimmers and a team of 43 members NDRF have been deployed at all major ghats. Similarly, more than 3,000 sanitation workers have been deployed for regular cleaning and sweeping the ghat areas.
