Hyderabad: The officials of Road Transport Authority would start issuing fitness certificates to depot-stranded buses of Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) from Tuesday.

According to sources, the RTA authorities have sorted out issues about the fitness certificates of State-owned RTC. Earlier, the present system had failed to complete the transaction of RTC buses as it insisted on all the required documents like tax, insurance and pollution certificates, which the government buses do not have.

The Hans India had reported on Saturday last about RTC buses being restricted to depots for want of fitness certificates. About 400 buses in Rangareddy and Hyderabad districts could not get the mandatory fitness certificate for running on the roads.

Hundreds of buses of RTC were limited to depots since Friday as the transport department could not issue fitness certificates to these buses, thanks to technical glitches in the online service system launched by the department.

The officials were also in a fix as to which Aadhaar card/number needed to be produced to process the transactions of RTC.

Sources said the issue was sorted out and the buses would be given fitness certificates from Tuesday onwards. The Aadhaar number of RTC MD would be taken to complete the transaction, official sources said.
