Decided to put up a united fight against the State government, the leaders of three major Left parties – Pothineni Sudarshan Rao (CPM), Bagam Hemanth Rao (CPI) and Rayala Chandrasekhar (CPI-ML New Democracy) in Khammam district - said in a meeting here that the TRS government has been bulldozing the rights of tribal communities.

Denouncing the ineffective implementation of the Forest Rights Act and other provisions bestowed under the Indian Constitution, the leaders demanded the government grant of rights to Adivasis over ‘podu’ land in their possession for many decades.

The leaders said that in a bid to exert pressure on TRS government, a host of State leaders including CPM state secretary Tammineni Veerabhadram, CPI state secretary Chada Venkat Reddy and senior ND leader Vemulapalli Venkatramaiah will visit Khammam district on September 4.

The leaders will visit nine Podu cultivating villages in Chandruginda, Kothagudem and Yellandu mandals where the forest officials allegedly damaged crops of Adivasis.
