Hyderabad: TRS MPs B Vinod Kumar and B Suman accused the Congress and the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) leaders of making deliberate attempts to stall the works of irrigation projects in the State.

Addressing a press conference here on Monday, they took serious exception to former Union Minister S Jaipal Reddy and Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) chief N Uttam Kumar Reddy for their useless rhetoric against Mallannasagar and other projects. They ridiculed the Congress leaders for lacking common sense and minimum knowledge of the projects and coming in the way for political mileage.

“The TRS came into existence for Telangana and will complete the projects to irrigate one crore acres over five years they reiterated. The people are carefully watching the nefarious designs of the Congress and will teach them a lesson,” they charged. They sought to know why the Congress leaders made it to Raj Bhavan against Mallannasagar.

The projects would turn green all lands in a few districts and increase the irrigation capacity, they said. The then Prime Minister Manmohan Singh suggested the States to make their own laws based on 2013 Land Acquisition Act, they recalled. However, the Congress leaders with no knowledge of the projects were making noise and trying to mislead farmers.

“We will construct projects with design changes to tap more waters from the Godavari and the Krishna rivers and supply to the crops. The Congress government failed to construct projects and causing hurdles to the ruling party now. The Opposition is getting envious over the good name to the government and Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao through completion of the projects,” they said. With no better political future, the Congress was playing dramas and talking nonsense, they charged.
