Nizamabad: Heavy rains lashed Armoor and other parts of the district on Saturday throwing normal out of gear. While Armoor recorded a highest rainfall of 39 cm, Madnur, Bodhan and Ranjal received 20 cm each, followed by Nandipet and Balkonda 19 cm each, Jakranpalle and Velpur 18 cm each, Navipet and Tadwai 16 cm each, Makloor, Yedapalle and Mortad 14 cm each.

Rains also occurred at many places in Adilabad, Warangal, Khammam, Ranga Reddy, Karimnagar, Medak and Hyderabad districts. The heavy rain was attributed to the persisting well-marked low pressure area over the State and adjoining south Chhattisgarh and Vidarbha, and the associated upper air cyclonic circulation extending up to 7.6 km above mean sea level tilting southwestwards.

The forecast warned of heavy to very heavy rain at a few places in all Telangana districts from Sunday to Wednesday. Decrease in rainfall during the subsequent three days is the weather outlook. The chief amounts of rainfall recorded (in cm) elsewhere in Telangana were: Nirmal 20, Lingampet 14, Kamareddy, Varni, Kotgiri and Mudhole 13 each, Jukkal, Rudrur, Dichpalle, Utnur and Gudur 12 each, Bheemgal, Dharpalle, Gandhari and Birkoor 10 each.

There was 9 cm of rainfall each in Nizamabad, Gundala, Yellareddy, Sadasivanagar, Sriramsagar, Bayyaram, Mominpet and Mahabubabad, 8 cm each in Nagareddipet, Kammarpalle, Sircilla, Medak and Ramayampet, 7 cm each in Mustabad, Nizamsagar, Narmetta, Boath, Banswada, Domakonda,Machareddy, Palakurthi, Jangaon, Gambhiraopet and Metpalle, 6 cm each in Khammam Urban, Nallabelly, Dubbak, Pitlam and Nawabpet and 5 cm each in Mulug, Kothagudem, Hakimpet IAF, Bhiknur and Venkatapur.
