The Deputy CM, who holds education portfolio, inaugurated the state-level conference on “Educational planning and administration” for district and mandal education officers at National Institute of Technology (NIT) here on Wednesday. The National University of Educational Planning and Administration (NUEPA) is organising the conference in association with the SCERT and Directorate of School Education, Telangana.

District, divisional and mandal-level administrators like DEOs, Deputy EOs, MEOs, DIET, IASE and CTE principals from Adilabad, Karimnagar, Khammam, Nalgonda and Warangal districts were attending the event.Srihari further informed that the government has planned to start 119 BC welfare residential schools from the next academic year. He expressed concern over the dropout of girls at high school level due to lack of toilets in the schools.

The government was focusing on improving facilities in schools. The teachers should meet the expectations of parents by imparting quality education and should come up with ideas to improve the system by identifying problems and suggesting solutions instead of complaining of lack of facilities at the schools. The Deputy CM also wanted the teachers and administrators to lay focus on improving the State’s stand in terms of literacy rate, girl child education, dropouts and human resources development. The state was lagging behind in those aspects,
he said.

Srihari hoped that conference would explore the means to address dropout rate of girl students. Results were good at the schools where the local mandal educational officers, principal and parents were actively involved in the school administration. School education director G Kishan, SCERT director S Jagannath Reddy, regional joint director Y Balaiah, NUEPA representatives Prof Suresh Kumar, Sunitha Chugh and VPS Raju, Warangal DEO P Rajiv, SCERT coordinator for the event Prof Narayan Reddy and others were present.
