Hyderabad: It was celebratory mood at the Wesley Boys Hostel, Secunderabad, as over 200 ‘Wesleyan brothers’ converged to attend the Boys Hostel Alumni meet here on Saturday.

Seniors who passed out way back in 1960s were seen mingling with the recently passed out candidates without any inhibitions.

They came in all sizes and shapes. Some with grey hair, with the old visage, a few with their bloated bellies, some maintained the same physical frame while a few others seem to have lost weight.

Setting aside differences in age, region and background, brothers greeted each other with loud cheers, friendly banter, laughs, giggles and high-fives.

N George, who addressed the former inmates, at a prayer meet, exhorted them to be receptacles to become instruments of God.

Pointing out that there was a difference between knowing god and ‘owning’ him, George said that god has blessed, loved and showed mercy on each of us and ‘we are what we are because of him.’

Anandam, the cook, who served the hostel for nearly 40 years, was felicitated. The meeting ended with a resolution to form an Advisory body to take up activities targeted to improve hostel and school conditions among other objectives.
