Hyderabad: Telangana JAC Chairman Prof M Kodandaram has demanded that the government examine the representations made by the people regarding changes in districts, revenue divisions and mandals.

A delegation of JAC leaders led by Prof M Kodandaram met Chief Secretary on Monday and submitted a memorandum asking the government to look into the representations and take necessary action.

The JAC leader wanted the government to remove the cases imposed on the protesters during the agitations for separate districts.

Talking to mediapersons after meeting the Chief Secretary, Kodandaram said that the government should positively consider the suggestions coming from the people and demanded that the government come to the rescue of the families whose children had committed suicides for new districts.

He urged the government to look into the demand for creation of separate mandals of Gattupal and Nagireddipet which witnessed protests for the past one week.

Replying to a question, he said the State was not showing the development people had expected after the formation of the State.

He said that the TRS government failed to resolve the issues confronting the farmers and the ruling party was least bothered about the agri-crisis in the State.

Prof Kodandaram said that he would take up relay hunger strike (Rythu Deeksha) on October 23 to highlight the problems of the farmers.
