Hyderabad: Deputy Chief Minister Kadiyam Srihari on Tuesday emphasised the need for strengthening universities to roll out students to serve the society and get optimal job opportunities. Kadiyam, also the Education Minister, exhorted the Vice-Chancellors of various universities to see that the entire system of imparting education and knowledge should be so as to surpass the foreign universities. He vowed to reshape and develop universities to a great extent with needed funding, facilities, infrastructure and faculty.

Holding a meeting with Vice-Chancellors of State varsities here on Tuesday, the Deputy Chief Minister discussed the steps to be taken to revamp varsities with a focus on standards and quality. “Varsities should shift their focus from offering the courses to get jobs to the students,” he noted. He also exhorted the heads of the varsities to put in collective efforts to come up with a plan of action to compete and surpass varsities of other nations.
