Hyderabad: The Congress party has demanded that Municipal Administration Minister K T Rama Rao tender his resignation immediately owning moral responsibility for the collapse of seven storeyed building.

Addressing a meeting organised to celebrate the 70th birth day of AICC Chief Sonia Gandhi here on Friday at Prakasham Hall at Gandhi Bhavan, TPCC Chief N Uttam Kumar Reddy alleged that the TRS government had failed to fulfil the promises made by it during the elections and was deceiving the people.

The TRS government had failed to transform Hyderabad city as Dallas, more so it was destroying the existing Hyderabad. The TRS government was steeped in scams and Rs 100 crore scam in GHMC came to light recently. Nanakramguda building collapse which had no permission for seven floors was the best example of the TRS government’s corruption, he said.

He said that Sonia Gandhi had conceded separate Telangana State sticking to the word given by her. The UPA government decisions yielded results and they showed its accountability in eradicating poverty and transparency in the governance. The credit of introducing revolutionary schemes like Food Security Act, NREGS, RTI, RTE and other goes to Sonia Gandhi, he said. TPCC working president Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka and others spoke.
