Hyderabad: As the TRS government completed 30 months in office on December 2, Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao and his Cabinet colleagues reportedly decided to present ‘progress reports’ on implementation of important welfare and developmental programmes during the winter session of the State Assembly which would begin on December 16.

According to sources, the Chief Minister felt that the ensuing winter session was the right time to showcase the government’s achievements during the last two and half years. KCR instructed the Ministers to compile scheme wise, sector wise and department wise details on the development and welfare programmes, funds earmarked and expenditure incurred so far.

At the Cabinet meeting presided over by the Chief Minister at the Secretariat here on Saturday, the Chief Minister directed the Ministers to explain the hurdles faced by the government in implementing some schemes like two bedroom scheme, delay in the release of funds for fee reimbursement, Arogyasri and self-employment schemes when such issues come for debate.

KCR asked every Minister to come to the Assembly well prepared in their subjects and table required documents on the implementation of the schemes instantly. He said the Opposition should not be given any opportunity to make baseless criticism against the government in the House.

It was also felt that action should be taken if the Opposition parties try to storm the well and disturb the proceedings. Sources said that KCR is likely to make a presentation on the welfare schemes meant for BC, SC, ST and Minority communities in the State and the government’s efforts in providing reservation to Muslims and Tribal’s as promised by TRS during elections.

He would also explain the progress made in Irrigation projects and other infrastructure schemes. The progress reports being prepared by Ministers would explain the development that had taken place in the State since the TRS assumed power on June 2, 2014 in different sectors. “

As the TRS government completed first half of the 60 month rule, KCR told his ministers to be pro- active and work hard to realise the dreams of people of Telangana,” sources said.
