Hyderabad: Deputy Chief Minister Kadiyam Srihari said that the State government, as part of its KG to PG scheme, had sanctioned 103 social welfare, 71 minority and 51 tribal welfare residential schools for the academic year 2016-17.

Replying to a question in the Assembly, the Deputy Chief Minister said that a decision had been taken to fill 5,315 teaching and non-teaching posts under the Telangana Social Welfare Residential Educational Institutions Society (TSWREIS) for SCs,

2,240 teaching and non-teaching posts in minority schools under the Telangana Minority Residential Educational Institutions Society (TMREIS) and 1,771 teaching and non-teaching posts under the Telangana Tribal Welfare Residential Educational Institutions Society (TTWREIS).

The TSPSC had been asked to issue notification to fill 1,794 posts in TSWREIS and 630 posts in TMRIES.
The government had also sanctioned 30 Residential Degree Colleges for SC women, he added.
