Hyderabad: Road and Buildings Minister Tummala Nageswara Rao here on Friday directed the officials to prepare Detailed Project Reports (DPRs) of all the proposed new highway projects and road works. The DPRs are intended to be submitted to the Centre to secure its approval for the projects.

He asserted that all the works relating to laying roads were being carried out at brisk pace. The 396 km Sarapaka-Yeturnagaram-Kaleswaram-Chennuru-Kotala-Sirpur national highway and regional outer ring road works showed that the State had made impressive progress.

Stating this at a review meeting with senior officials of the Road and Buildings department on the progress of various highway projects in the State, the Minister asked them to complete all the works speedily.

Directing the officials to ensure high standards in the construction of roads without any shortcomings in the design and quality, he told them to provide necessary provisions like underpass and grade dividers He also emphasised the need to build bypass roads around important towns.

Accordingly, he asked them to lay bypass roads in line with the new method at Suryapet, Mothe, Nayak Gudem, and Kumanchi to Khammam and Warangal towns while laying the national highway on Suryapet-Khammam-Kodada and Warangal-Hyderabad stretches.

He urged the District Collectors to give immediate clearance for land acquisition for Warangal, Janagama and Yadadri road works.
