​Hyderabad: IT Minister K T Rama Rao who is on a tour of Japan invited the Director and General Manager Satoshi Shimizu, Ryohin Keikaku of MUJI to Hyderabad to explore the opportunities available in the State.

MUJI is a retail giant which sells wide variety of household and consumer goods without any brand name. The minister also met several investors and top managements of different organisations and pitched for setting up their outlets in the State.

The minister also explained the friendly policies of the government in Telangana to them. K T Rama Rao also met JICA Senior Vice President Hidetoshi Irigaki, senior director Kyosuke Inada, South East Asia deputy director general, Katsuo Matsumoto and discussed priority sectors like Urban Infrastructure, forestry, water and sanitation, and industrial development.

JICA has asked the State to submit proposals for consideration on funding. He also met JETRO (Japan External Trade Organisation) Shikegi Maeda, executive vice president, Takashi Suzuki, Senior director for global strategy, South West Asia and agreed on holding business summits in Tokyo and Osaka cities of Japan with various industry leaders prior to investing in Telangana.

KTR who later called on Satoshi Shinozaki, President, Mayekawa Research Institute Co. Ltd., vice president, the public-private council for promoting global food value chain to show case the investment opportunities in Telangana.
