Khammam: Minister for Roads and Buildings Tummala Nageswara Rao directed the officials to expedite the development works of Lakkaram tank in the city. Inspecting the tank modernisation works on Saturday, he said that tank will be filled by the Nagarjuna Sagar Project Left Canal waters by February end to mitigate the drinking water scarcity in the city.

He said that steps will be taken to develop the adjacent land of Lakkaram tank if the municipal corporation comes up with a detailed project report.

Earlier, the minister inspected the helipad and the public meeting venue where Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao is scheduled to address people in Tirumalayapalem mandal headquarters on January 31. It may be noted here that CM will inaugurate the Bhakta Ramadasu Lift Irrigation Project (BRLP) at Erragadda Tanda under Kusumanchi mandal on January 31. He will also visit the project’s pump house at Islavath Tanda.

The minister instructed the officials to make necessary arrangements for the CM’s tour. MLA Puvvada Ajay Kumar, Mayor Dr Guguloth Papalal, DCCB Chairman Muvva Vijay Babu, ZP CEO M Nagesh, BRLP chief engineer Sudhakar and executive enginner Nageswara Rao were among others present.
