Hyderabad: The High Court at Hyderabad is set to pass orders on next Monday whether the Hyderabad Cricket Association can be entrusted with the conduct of IPL matches or whether any administrator needs to be appointed.

The division bench comprising Acting Chief Justice Ramesh Ranganathan and Justice Shameem Akhter gave this indication while hearing a public interest litigation petition seeking cleansing of Hyderabad Cricket Association of its various ills.

BCCI counsel K Priyadarshan Reddy informed the bench that given the suspicions over the ways of the current management of Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA), the BCCI would agree if the High Court ordered appointment of an administrator or make some other interim arrangement to run the affairs of HCA during the ensuing IPL matches.

The bench directed the counsel to file an affidavit to this effect. When the bench sought to know the role of the HCA in conducting IPL matches, the BCCI counsel informed that HCA would get Rs 60 lakh from each match for providing the ground, accommodation and various facilities.

Both the BCCI and local franchise Sun Risers contribute Rs 30 lakh each for this. Mir Masood Khan, the counsel for Bharat Cricket Club, told the bench that there were rival claimants to the HCA management and this was creating confusion. The bench too observed that the previous report of the BCCI on this issue was very damaging to the current management.

B Vijaysen Reddy, the counsel for HCA functionary John Manoj, stated that the BCCI report had unnecessarily found fault with HCA for earmarking a portion of tickets as complimentary tickets and sought to know from the BCCI whether it was going to advocate selling those tickets.

The bench indicated it would pass orders on Monday and adjourned the matter.
