Hyderabad: Acharya Pushpadant Sagar Maharaj along with saint 108 Pujya Sagar Maharaj has walked all the way from Indore, Madhya Pradesh, to reach Hyderabad and meet his disciple –saint 108 Pramukh Sagar Maharaj who is already in Hyderabad for the last eight months.

Usually, Jain monks travel without clothes or slippers and eat only one time a day. The monks follow a very rigid and simple lifestyle. They travel to different parts of India on foot to spread the teachings of Jainism. Acharya 108 Pushpadant Sagar Maharaj had covered around 1,500 km and reached Hyderabad on Sunday to meet his disciple and devotees.

The procession started around 7 am at Basheerbagh Jain Mandhir. Thousands of Jain devotees participated and they walked along with the monks towards Digambar Jain Mandir, Agapura. The group reached to Goshamahal at 8 pm and the two monks had met and greeted each other amidst many of Jain followers.

The procession also had live orchestra band singing religious songs with thousands of people dressed in white and saffron. “We, the Digambar Jain Samaj Hyderabad are happy to welcome one of our finest Guru ‘Acharya 108 Pushpadant Sagar Maharaj’, who all the way came from Madhya Pradesh walking 1,500 km to meet his disciple 108 Pramukhsagar Maharaj.

These gurus are spreading peace, love and prosperity all over India. I’m happy to be part of this great procession and I think this will propagates the Jainism in Hyderabad,” said Abhishek Jain, who participated in the procession.
