Once again girls outshone the boys in the SSC public examinations held in March this year.  While  85.37  percent  girls passed the examination,  the boys percentage  is  82.95 per cent. 

Hyderabad: Once again girls outshone the boys in the SSC public examinations held in March this year. While 85.37 percent girls passed the examination, the boys percentage is 82.95 per cent.

Announcing the results, the Deputy Chief Minister Kadiam Srihari, on Wednesday, said the overall pass percentage of the students was 84.15 per cent, one per cent less than the pass percentage last year.

As many as 5.33 lakh had appeared for the exams and out of them 5.07 lakh were regular candidates and 25,763 were private candidates. Around 2005 schools, including private and government, have achieved 100 per cent success whereas 28 registered zero results.

Out of the 28 schools which have registered zero pass percentage, 20 are private schools, five aided institutions, one government and two are Zilla Parishad schools. The performance of BC residential schools has been good and they have achieved 94.63 pass percentage.

Other residential schools have also fared well, Srihari said. He informed that the advanced supplementary exams would be held from June 5 to June 19 for which the fee can be paid till May 18.
