Stresses the need for proper upkeep and clean surroundings

Hyderabad: Animal Husbandry Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav on Monday asked the government hospitals to maintain clean and hygienic environment to ensure that the patients recover in a speedy manner with timely and seamless medical services. The Minister was participating in the State-wide Pink Day celebrations to distribute bed sheets at Gandhi Hospital.

Speaking on the occasion, the Minister said the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) government was giving top priority to provide best facilities, equipment, stretchers, mortuary vans and others in the hospitals to extend unblemished health services. “We are giving adequate number of bed sheets, including pink, blue and white for regular change at the hospitals,” he said.

He also said emergency fund of Rs 1 crore had been kept with the hospital superintendents for immediate use. Stressing the need for upkeep and clean environments in the hospitals, he asked the hospital staff, including doctors, nurses and others to cooperate with the patients and their attendants for speedy recovery.

The doctors and Class IV employees at the hospitals should maintain discipline and provide satisfying services to the patients to win their hearts, he suggested.

“Unless we offer best services, the people won’t believe in our hospitals,” he said. Srinivas also said the hospital should maintain a complaint box and open it every week and follow suggestions and improve health services as per the complaints made by the patients or their attendants.

“This will help the hospitals to get good name in future,” he hoped. The Minister made a visit to theorthopaedic and emergency wards and interacted with patients. He sought to know about the health facilities being provided to them.
