Hyderabad: Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) on Tuesday decided to deploy Point of Sale (PoS) machines (electronic swiping machines) to collect fee for Land Regularisation Scheme (LRS).

HMDA Commissioner T Chiranjeevulu held a meeting with the bank representatives from Indian Overseas Bank (IOB), ICICI and Kotak Mahindra Bank.

The commissioner said the banks had agreed to provide PoS machines to the HMDA. Earlier, HMDA had used e-challans, RTGS (real time gross settlement) and National Electronic Funds Transfers (NEFT) for collecting fee for LRS.

He said HMDA had approved as many as 21,950 new land regularisation schemes. He said LRS process would be completed by July and it is expected to garner revenue to the tune of RS 700 crore.
