Hyderabad: Demanding immediate resignation of Deputy Chief Minister Mahmood Ali over his alleged involvement in the Miyapur land scam, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Thursday sought a CBI inquiry into the matter.

Speaking to media persons, BJP spokesperson Krishna Saagar Rao questioned the silence of the Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao and Deputy CM over being involved in the 500 crore land scam. Alleging that a huge land scam would not have taken place without the knowledge of the Chief Minister, Krishna Saagar Rao demanded that the Chief Minister make his stand clear on the issue.

He held that the Chief Minister, who boasts of tall claims of corruption-free government, should immediately sack his Deputy. “If Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao does not respond over the issue within 24 hours, it would be assumed as complicity of silence” he said.

Meanwhile Telangana TDP working president A Revanth Reddy too demanded Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao to dismiss Deputy Chief Minister Mohammad Mahmood Ali, as the Dy CM and officials of his peshi are drowned neck deep in the allegations of land scams.

Addressing a press conference here on Thursday at NTR Trust Bhavan, Revanth Reddy questioned the Chief Minister as to what is stopping him from taking action against Mahmood Ali just the way he had done in case of former deputy chief minister Rajaiah.

He alleged that KCR held a review meeting on the Miyapur land scam in the presence of an IAS official belonging to the Goldstone Prasad’s family.
