Hyderabad: Laying foundation stone for Brahmin Parishat at Gopannapally here along with its chairman and Government Advisor K V Ramana Chary, Information Technology and Municipal Administration Minister K T Rama Rao on Monday said Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao was committed for Brahmins’ welfare.

As Chandrashekar Rao could not attend the programme, Rama Rao participated in the function and vowed to complete the project. “Chandrashekar Rao will not just make promises and will surely put in persistent efforts to keep them,” he said. Telangana, which stood ideal at the national level in implementing welfare schemes would become the first State to build a big building for Brahmin community in the country, Rama Rao said.

Stating that he would personally take care of the building construction on time with all facilities, he said Chandrashekar Rao had sanctioned Rs 100 crore for the Parishat. He hoped that the Brahmin Parishat, under the guidance of Ramanachary, would also become an ideal destination in the future.

Chandrashekar Rao proved himself a Brahmin friend and was the only Chief Minister to have conducted Ayutha Chandiyagam, Rama Rao noted. The Chief Minister was now making determined efforts for the cause of Brahmins and other classes. The Brahmins in the State should support and bless the Chief Minister to take forward such welfare activities, he appealed.

Having spent most of his childhood at Brahmins’ houses and studied there, Chandrashekar Rao followed the “Dharma” of our culture and tradition. Chandrashekar Rao, he said, was aware of Brahmins’ difficulties and problems due to poverty and poor financial sources.

Keeping this in view, the Brahmin Parishat was going to come up with function hall, conference hall, information centre with completely equipped library of spiritual and religious books, marriage hall, parking place and other facilities and provide accommodation for those coming from outside.MP and Telangana Representative in Delhi S Venugopala Chary, Parishat vice chairman and CMO CPRO Jwala Narsimha Rao, building designer GVR Ravi, and several others participated in the programme.
