Hyderabad: Telugu Desam Party (TDP) MLC from Andhra Pradesh G Deepak Reddy, his advocate associate B Sailesh Saxena and realtor R Srinivas were on Wednesday sent to prison in connection with their attempts to grab government and private lands worth hundreds of crores of rupees.

Even as they were remanded to judicial custody for 14 days, the police filed an application seeking custody of the accused for deeper investigation. However, Deepak Reddy claimed that he was implicated in the case.Additional Deputy Commissioner of the Detective Department G Jogaiah said the three accused, along with some others, had tried to grab over 90 acres of private and government lands worth crores of rupees.

According to him, 78 acres of land in Bhojagutta actually belonged to Justice Sardar Ali Khan, which was taken over by the government under the Urban Land Ceiling Act. However, some people sold the land to different people long ago without the knowledge of the government. The genuine buyers approached courts and made representations to the governments following which the government allotted the land to different societies whose members belong to weaker sections.

However, Deepak Reddy and Sailesh ganged up with others and created fake documents to claim right over the vacant land in Bhojagutta and filed cases in the High Court and also in the Land Grabbing Court, the police official said.Even the residents of Bhojagutta alleged that Deepak and Sailesh threatened them by deploying private guards and demanded Rs 70,000 from each resident for not disturbing them from living in the locality. One of the victim societies, Mustafa Hills Society, lodged a complaint with the police in this connection.

Similarly, Deepak and his gang created fake documents to show that they had purchased 12 acres of land in survey number 102/1 in Shaikpet from one Balaiah, Shafeeq Ahmed Khan and Syed Mohammed Hussain, the police officer said.

On the strength of the fake documents, the gang filed a writ petition in the High Court and tried to take possession of the government land. However, the Revenue authorities lodged a complaint with the Banjara Hills police. The case was later transferred to the CCS for thorough investigation.

In yet another case, Deepak and his gang created fake documents related to 3.37 acres of land in Banjara Hills, which was purchased by MVS Chowdary and Brothers in 1960. The gang created fake documents in 2008 showing Akbar Mohinuddin Ansari and Khaja Mohinuddin Ansari as the owners and filed false cases in the Land Grabbing Court, the officer said.

The actual owners filed a case in Banjara Hills police station and the same was transferred to CCS for investigation. “After thorough investigation, we have found evidence against Deepak Reddy, Sailesh Saxena and Srinivas and arrested them,” Jogaiah said.

“We have come to know that some cases of similar nature have been registered against the accused in Cyberabad. We will be able to get the details ones we take them into police custody and grill them thoroughly,” he said.Meanwhile, Deepak Reddy told media persons while being taken to the court that he was falsely implicated in the case for political reasons and that he would expose the falsehood soon.
