Hyderabad: The High Court at Hyderabad on Wednesday dismissed the bail applications moved by the accused in Miyapur land scam.

Director of Trinity Infra P S Pardhasaradhy and Director of Suvishala Power Generation Company P V S Sharma approached the High Court for bail after the lower court rejected their plea.

Justice U Durga Prasad passed this order after hearing arguments on both sides. The lower court remanded them in judicial custody.

Appearing for the petitioners, senior counsel Vedula Venkataramana argued that they had not committed any crime by executing a sale deed. Moreover, they had served police custody period and there was no further need for being held in custody.

Telangana Public Prosecutor Pratap Reddy informed the judge that the execution of the sale deed was a conspiracy to defraud the government of crores of rupees and consequently the government suffered losses to that extent.

He also said the accused had paid large sums of money as bribes to the Sub-Registrar of Kukatpally region in order to get the sale deeds executed.

The judge found merit in the argument of the Public Prosecutor and accordingly dismissed the petition seeking bail.
