Hyderabad: Municipal Administration Minister KT Rama Rao said the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) government aimed big to provide basic amenities such as drinking water, housing facility and better roads and power in the State including districts and villages. He launched drinking water reservoirs at various locations in the city including Mallapur, Sainikpuri and Kailasgiri.
He also said that roads in the twin cities would soon get a facelift. The officials concerned were asked to plunge into immediate action to patch up roads and make it monsoon ready.To mark the inauguration of the new drinking water facility, the Minister opened a tap and drank water from it.

Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao was dreaming of offering safe and potable drinking water to the people in rural areas also. The aim of the TRS government was to ensure that the women folk did not face the problem for safe drinking water any more, the Minister added.
During the Congress regime, women carrying pots used to protest at the Water Board office in the city and that situation was not recurring now after the TRS coming to power in the State, he claimed. “We have addressed the problem of drinking water and there is no need for people to purchase a water tanker hereafter,” Rama Rao said. Works of few more reservoirs were nearing completion and would be opened soon for general public in a phased manner, the Minister said.
Speaking on the occasion, Transport Minister P Mahender Reddy said the TRS government was fulfilling its manifesto promises. Chandrashekar Rao was focusing on providing basic amenities to the poor and housing facility would certainly prove handy, he said. MLAs, Mayor B Rammohan and senior officials were present.
