Hyderabad: The Prohibition and Excise Department on Saturday suspended the licence of F Club with immediate effect for allowing sale and consumption of drugs on its premises.

The decision was taken after the Excise officials held a meeting with the managements of pubs, bars, star hotels and restaurants in connection with the ongoing probe into the drug racket. The Excise department also issued warning letters to 14 bars and pubs since they were found allowing their customers consume drugs along with drinks.

During the meeting, the officials told the representatives of the pubs, bars, hotels and restaurants that some of the bars, restaurants and pubs had become notorious for the sale and consumption of drugs and action would be initiated according to the law.

The officials also warned five-star hotels in this regard. The officials asked the pubs to submit CCTV footage of past three months.

Following the meeting, the Excise department issued notices to 14 more pubs and bars. The officials instructed the managements to display boards showing sale and consumption of drugs is prohibited and everything was under strict surveillance. The managements had been warned that the licences will be cancelled if they violate the rules.
