Parkal (Warangal Rural): Parkal Zilla Headquarters Sadhana Joint Action Committee (JAC) has intensified the struggle seeking the establishment of Warangal rural district headquarters at Parkal town. The JAC had called for a bandh on Saturday in the town in support of the demand. The bandh passed off peacefully and was total. Heavy police bando bust was made in view of the bandh in the town.

All business establishments and educational institutions were closed as the public voluntarily took part in the agitation. The JAC leaders took out a massive rally from Ambedkar centre to Bus Stand centre. The JAC convener Pitta Veeraswamy, Koluguri Rajeshwar Rao of TDP, Duppati Sambaiah of CPM, Nakka Chiranjeevi of CPI, O Rajamouli of Advocates JAC, the town municipal councillor RP Jayanth Lal of BJP and others took part in the rally.

Speaking to presspersons, the JAC leaders criticised the local MLA Ch Dharma Reddy for maintaining silence about the issue and asked him to quit his post and join JAC to fight for the cause.

They told the MLA to convince the Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao to set up Warangal Rural district headquarters in the town. If the government was not willing to set up the district headquarters at Parkal it should consider creating Parkal revenue division by including Mogullapalli, Chityal, Regonda and Shayampet mandals, the JAC leaders suggested.

Meanwhile, the CPM district secretary M Chukkaiah and the party leader Ch Rangaiah have written a letter to the Chief Minsiter asking him to set up the rural district headquarters at Azam Jahi Mills grounds.

They submitted the letter to the District Collector Prashanth Jeevan Patil on Saturday. The CPM leaders wanted the State government to allot the land at Azam Jahi Mills grounds to build the Collectorate saying that it could resolve the ongoing agitations at Parkal, Narsampet and Wardhannapet in connection with rural district headquarters.
