Hyderabad: The Special Investigation Team (SIT) will be interrogating Mike Kamminga, the Dutch national at Abkari Bhavanhere from 11 AM on Saturday. He is accused to be one of the key players in the drug racket, particularly for supplying drugs amongst his acquaintances in the IT industry.

As part of ongoing investigation into the biggest drugs scam, the Excise Department officials on Friday remanded him to custody for three days. He was lodged in the Chanchalguda jail after his arrest on July 26 for his alleged role in drug racket. He is currently in the custody of Serilingampally office of the Excise Department. He will be produced before SIT on Saturday.

Allegations of Hyderabad’s drug racket having links with international agencies got strengthened and proved after he was arrested more than a week ago. The 33-year old Mike had visited India four times since 2014 and has a valid visa till June 2018, with a Netherlands passport.

He was staying here for the last six months. The Dutch company which was he was heading was found in possession of psychotropic substances.

According to Excise and Prohibition Director Akun Sabharwal, Mike is a key person who is involved in supply of drugs to people working in IT companies in Madhapur, Gachibowli and Uppal areas. The SIT had also seized a call list from Mike, upon his arrest.

This call list that was seized from Mike was said to have telephone numbers of more than 1,500 employees working in various software companies. He was arrested following a lead provided by a higher official, whose son was allegedly addicted to drugs.

He developed rapport with the prospective clients with the help of social media like Facebook, Twitter and alsoLinkedin. He is also believed to have used ‘Darknet’, to avoid being caught for procuring drugs from international markets and supplied basically cocaine and LSD to some people including the sons of top officials.
