Hyderabad: Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao, on Monday, said that his government was waiting for the response from Union government on the requests made with regard to reducing GST burden on the development projects taken up in Telangana State.

“GST is an experiment. Many countries have brought in the GST. Due to some problems at the implementation level, some countries have withdrawn it. We have to wait and see what will be the result. There are divergent opinions on the GST slab system. Several requests were made to the Centre for reduction in GST slab on works relating to irrigation projects, drinking water schemes and development works. We have to wait and see how the Centre reacts,” he said.

He also discussed about the availability of plenty of water in Godavari and Krishna rivers. If they are utilised properly both the Telugu states will benefit the most. He recalled the discrimination and injustices done to Telangana region in united Andhra Pradesh.
