Nalgonda: Most Backward Classes (MBC) chairman Taduri Srinvas said the State government is committed to develop the caste-based professions with a modern touch to strengthen the rural economy.

He was speaking at the washerman associations meeting, which he attended as the chief guest, at Town Hall in Nalgonda n Saturday. Addressing the gathering, he said as part of development of weaker sections, the government paid special attention to most backward classes in the State. State government had planned several schemes for the MBCs so as to extend modern equipment to the caste based professions.

MP Gutha Sukender Reddy said that he would provide Rs 17 lakh for setting up a modern dhobi ghat in Nalgonda and Rs 5 lakh for the construction of Rajaaka Bhavan in the district headquarter.

TSFDC chairman Banda Narender Reddy listed out the various government welfare schemes and achievements for the last three years. Telangana Rajaka associations coordination committee State convener Konduru Satyanaryana urged the government and public representatives to set up modern dhobi ghats in every district with an estimated cost of Rs 30 lakh in Nalgonda, Suryapet and Yadadri districts for the welfare of washerman.
