Hyderabad: Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao, on humanitarian grounds, has sanctioned financial assistance to a young boy who requires a liver transplant.

According to a CMO release, 11 months-old Devasani Sriman, son of Hanuman Das from Gajwel town, has been ailing since his birth. Doctors attending on him said he is suffering with liver ailments and that transplant is the only solution. His parents are worried that they have no money to get the transplant done.

Based on the reports appeared in a section of the press, the Chief Minister spoke to Siddipet Collector Venkatram Reddy and instructed him to provide for the medical facilities. Venkatram Reddy has met the family members of Sriman and obtained the details. The doctors said that for a liver transplant Rs 25 Lakh is required. Responding to this, the CM has released Rs 25 Lakh from the CM’s relief Fund.

The Siddipet Collector has handed over Rs 25 Lakh cheque to parents of Sriman at Global Hospitals where Sriman is undergoing the treatment. The Collector also asked the doctors to provide the best medical care.
