Service centres laxity irks citizens

Hyderabad: Delay in the issue of certificates by the Citizen Service Centres (CSC) in old city is irking people as they are forced to run from pillar to post for getting their work done.

Many people have criticised the laxity and ignorance of CSC staff but nothing has been done so far. People accuse that the staff was giving excuses of network breakdown every time they visit for the online submission or retrieval of their documents.

Sarfaraz from Moghalpura said that he applied for the birth certificate of his son 20 days ago but the staff did not issue the required document so far. He said, “Whenever I visit the CSC for the document, the staff gives the excuse of server being down. I do not understand what they actually wantfrom us. We have paid the service charges and submitted required proof of documents but certificates are not issued in time.”

Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) had initiated the CSCs in each of its circle for easing the procedure of dispensing Birth Certificate, Death Certificate, Non-availability Certificate and other documents.Every day about 250 to 300 people visit the service centre for different documents but the complaint of server down has become common in many centres of old city.

Earlier, people were forced to visit GHMC head office for obtaining such documents but Citizen Service Centres eased the burden of travelling. However, of late these centres have not been functioning well.
