The modern 65-bedded ICU at Gandhi Hospital has finally started functioning from Thursday. The ICU was inaugurated by the Governor E S L Narasimhan on August 10.

Hyderabad: The modern 65-bedded ICU at Gandhi Hospital has finally started functioning from Thursday. The ICU was inaugurated by the Governor E S L Narasimhan on August 10.

Soon after that the ICU had to shut down due to lack of sufficient staff. Gandhi Hospital Superintendent Dr P Shravan Kumar told The Hans India that Director of Medical Education Dr K Ramesh Reddy attended the opening of the ICU.

The 30 patients at Acute Medical Care (AMC) were shifted to the new ICU. The new ICU would cater to 65 patients who are in need of intensive care.

Dr Shravan said, “before opening up the ICU we had done fumigation to disinfect the room and thoroughly checked the oxygen levels and other parameters.”
