Officials claimed that they have been attacked by the residents when they tried to demolish the encroachments.

According to sources, 7,507.03 acres of land is allotted, 3,532.38 acres is utilised, 3,974.05 acres is un-utilised, 2,845.35 acres is been covered by court case, 131.08 acres is covered by nala and 1,013.28 acres is remaining. As per the sources, the Jawaharnagar land is of 4,000 acres of which 2,000 acres belong to HMDA and remaining is sold to private agencies.

HMDA Official said that he was attacked by the residents of Jawaharnagar, when and his subordinates visited the are to demolish the encroached constructions. He said he was attacked by the residents and they filed a case against HMDA. A senior HMDA official said a security guard is hired to inform the department about the irregularities.

He further said in order to protect these lands the HMDA will give the land on long term lease or sell the land.
He also said in last one-year HMDA had filed around 15 criminal cases against the people of Jawaharnagar.
