Tragedy strikes onion farmer

Hyderabad: An onion farmer from Pedda Nelaturu under Gonegandla mandal in Kurnool district died of a heart attack at Malakpet market in Hyderabad on Saturday on learning that the prices of onion had dropped.
Ediga Dastagiri (45) went to Malakpet market to sell his 85 bags onion produce because he was unable to secure minimum support price in Kurnool market. He suffered a fatal heart attack when he heard that the price of onions had tumbled and declined to Rs 550, a quintal.
His peers from the village shifted the body to his native village by contributing money from their pockets. Dastagiri is survived by wife, two daughters and a son.
