Hyderabad: Hoodwinked by Lodha Group of Builders, the residents of Lodha Meridian appealed to the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) and other authorities concerned to get them their due rights and amenities as per the promises made to them.

They demanded the Lodha Group to come forward and provide the facilities as per GHMC norms. Interacting with the media here on Sunday, Phani Prasad, owner of a flat in the apartment said that Lodha Builders had resorted to cheat as many as 750 families by not providing them what it has promised and money it received for.

He said that from parking space to club house and poorly maintained lifts to charges for playgrounds in the apartment area, the Lodha Group misguided them and tried to get away by making only tentative arrangements. He said that the 34th floor on Lodha Meridian needs at least 17 metres of space around it as per the fire safety norms but only 8 metres were provided. He said that 1,500 car parking spaces were promised to the owners while the construction works were in progress but only 300 parking spaces were provided.

“Before we shifted here, they also promised an additional 100 parking spaces for visitors but it turned out to be a false promise,” he lamented. Out of the 750 families who paid the premium for apartments, only 70 families are currently residing in the apartment. They alleged that the parking space was not even sufficient for them and if all the buyers occupy their apartments, it would be a complete mess in the parking area.

K V Prasad Rao, another resident, said that each flat cost them about Rs 1 crore to Rs 1.30 crore and the residents were given poor amenities contrary to the promises made by the Lodha Group.
