Nizamabad: Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh on Sunday ruled out talks with Pakistan until it stops aiding cross-border terrorism aimed at destabilising India. He said India wants to maintain good relations with all the neighbouring countries. But unfortunately, Pakistan does not understand it. They are trying to weaken India by encouraging cross-border terrorism. Unless they stop it, we cannot hold talks with them.”

Addressing a huge gathering at a public meeting organised here as part of the Telangana Vimochana Divas, Rajnath Singh said the Telangana Vimochana Sankalpa Sabha' should take a pledge that everyone would strive to create a ‘New Bharat’. “BJP will officially celebrate Telangana Vimochana Divas when it comes to power in Telangana,” he added.

Recalling the sacrifices made by the people of Telangana who laid their lives for the merger with the Indian Union, Singh said determination of the people of Telangana and the efforts of Iron Man Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel had liberated Telangana from the Nizams.

He said, "It is important to remember the sacrifices of great people. He said his government was committed to the cause of preserving the national interest and works towards achieving development in every aspect. It is a strange coincidence that the Vimochana Divas of Telangana coincides with the birthday of Prime Minister Modi and we shall make sure that sentiments of the people are not hurt," he said.

The Union Home Minister welcomed D Arvind into the BJP fold. Arvind is the son of senior TRS leader and Rajya Sabha member Dharmapuri Srinivas.
