Scribes, govt staff to get smart health cards
The State government is mulling introducing smart card for the employees, journalists and pensioners (EHS, EJS and PHS) which contain entire medical and health data of beneficiaries. This method is being intended to provide preventive healthcare.
Hyderabad: The State government is mulling introducing smart card for the employees, journalists and pensioners (EHS, EJS and PHS) which contain entire medical and health data of beneficiaries. This method is being intended to provide preventive healthcare.
According to officials, the Aarogyasri Health Care Trust is planning to hold medical camps to collect the health data of those who will be given health cards. The officials of the Trust are at present holding consultations with the heads of the government departments and various employees’ associations.
The smart card will contain all the vital information of those who will be benefited by the scheme. Besides, the Health Department is holding discussions with private and corporate hospitals to ensure that the health data will be available with the latter. After analysing the health information, the Trust will focus its attention on preventive healthcare.
Meanwhile, those, who have already been enrolled in the scheme, are availing themselves of consultations in Wellness Centres in Hyderabad. As many as 1,000 outpatient consultations are being done a day in two Wellness Centres. The Trust has decided to set 14 such centres across the State.
Speaking to The Hans India, Dr K Padma, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of EHS and JHS, said along with the Osmania General Hospital, Gandhi Hospital and NIMS, the card-holders are getting treatment in 16 corporate hospitals too in Hyderabad.
Explaining the medical services, Dr Padma said the Wellness Centres has all the consultations, dental specialities, such as basic diagnostics, physiotherapy, yoga, Ayurveda and Unani under one roof. As of now, around 12 lakh employees, journalists and pensioners were registered for health cards, she said and added at first the limit was Rs 2 lakh, but now the Trust is paying the cost depending upon the disorder without limit. “Already CT and MRI scanning tests are done at NIMS and MNJ institute of Cancer. For CT scanning and MRI scanning we are going to tie up with corporate hospitals.
The CEO said the card-holders were being provided with all kinds of medical care, including surgery, if need be. “Those card-holders, if need arises, are getting even Robotic surgery. As many as 20 Robotic surgeries and 15 organ transplants were carried out.
With the success of the outpatients, surgeries and other medical care, the police personnel under Arogya Bhadratha scheme too have shown interest in joining in the health card scheme,” she said.
