A seminar on “Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief” (HADR) will be conducted at College of Defence Management in Secunderabad on Friday.  

Hyderabad: A seminar on “Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief” (HADR) will be conducted at College of Defence Management in Secunderabad on Friday.

The seminar will be addressed by Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Kiren Rijiju, Telangana Deputy CM Mohammad Mahmood Ali, Lieutenant General PM Hariz, General Officer Commanding in Chief (GOC-in- C), Southern Command and a host of eminent experts on the subject.

The seminar is a part of the exercise “Pralay Sahayam”, is conceptualized as a Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief (HADR) supported by the Government of Telangana State in conjunction with the Armed Forces and other Disaster mitigation agencies. The exercise will be conducted at Hussain Sagar Lake in Hyderabad on September 23.

The exercise will commence with the seminar consisting of Plenary Session 1 and 2 pitched at Strategic and Operational level. This will be followed by tactical level discussion during the conduct of the Table Top Exercise. The discussion will manifest into the tactical drills on 23rd Sep 2017 during Multi Agency Exercise. All National, State and District level Disaster Management agencies including the NGOs will exhibit synergy during the Rescue and Relief Operations.

The exercise aims to synergise the efforts of all the agencies involved and to build confidence in the populace with regards to the capabilities of the Disaster Management agencies towards mitigation of disasters and support available in case of such disasters. The exercise conducted under the aegis of Headquarters Southern Command with guidance from Sudarshan Chakra Corps and coordinated by Bison Division.
