Hyderabad: Following heavy rains that lashed the city throwing life out of gear for over four hours and with forecast of heavy rains during next two to three days, the Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao spoke to the Commissioner GHMC B Janardhan Reddy and asked him to take all necessary measures to provide relief to the people affected by heavy rains. He also asked the entire staff to be on high alert for next two days.

GHMC Commissioner B Janardhan Reddy has issued instructions to all the Assistant Commissioners and other staff to maintain constant vigil over dilapidated structures. He directed the officials to take immediate action and ensure that people staying in old and dilapidated buildings are shifted to safer places.

The GHMC commissioner asked the officials to keep men and machinery available in case of emergency and to be alert and respond immediately to messages from Control Room and weather reports from IMD. According to weather office, highest rain was recorded in Bahadurpura 126.3 mm followed by Rajendranagar 116.5 mm, Amberpet 115.5 mm, Golkonda 95.8 mm, Secunderabad 95.5mm and Himayatnagar 88.5mm.
