Hyderabad: Amid strong reports of him joining the Congress party soon, Telangana TDP Working President A. Revanth Reddy attended the party's meeting held at NTR Trust Bhavan on Friday.

The meeting, chaired by Telangana TDP president L. Ramana, was attended by senior leaders including M. Narasimhulu, Ravula Chandrashekhar Reddy, Peddi Reddy, Ravula Prakash, Nama Nageshwar Rao and Arvind Kumar Goud. According to sources, Narasimhulu and Arvind Kumar Goud reportedly slammed Revanth Reddy for meeting Congress Vice-President Rahul Gandhi in New Delhi and sought an explanation. They questioned as to why Revanth Reddy met Congress leaders in Delhi without even consulting TDP supremo and AP Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu.

Irked over not getting any response from Revanth Reddy, Narasimhulu and Goud reportedly left the meeting mid-way. During the meeting, which lasted for about two hours, Revanth Reddy's latest statement and moves were discussed by other leaders. Responding to objections raised by different leaders on his moves, Revanth Reddy said he would apprise Chandrababu Naidu about the same after his return from foreign visit. He said party workers and leadership were fully aware of who actually worked for the party. He claimed that he had even went to jail for the party.

However, after the meeting concluded, the TDP leaders tried to downplay the entire issue. Speaking to media persons, Ravula Chandrashekhar Reddy claimed that Revanth Reddy's issue was not even discussed in the meeting. He also denied reports that Narasimhulu and Goud had boycotted the meeting. He said they left the party office only at the end of meeting. He said Telangana TDP's Legislature Party meeting is scheduled to be held on October 26 and Revanth Reddy himself has invited everyone for the meeting. He said party's executive meeting would be held soon and it would be chaired by Chandrababu Naidu.
