Telangana Govt reschedules Academic Year, to conduct all CETs online
Deputy Chief Minister (Education) Kadiam Srihari held the meeting with the senior officials of the Education Department today and directed them to make arrangements for conducting all the common entrance examination for admissions into various courses through online mode only.
Hyderabad : Deputy Chief Minister (Education) Kadiam Srihari held the meeting with the senior officials of the Education Department today and directed them to make arrangements for conducting all the common entrance examination for admissions into various courses through online mode only.
Speaking to media persons later, the Deputy CM briefed about various important decisions taken in the meeting. He informed that the Academic year would be rescheduled and all the schools, both government and private, would commence classes from June 1. This decision has been taken keeping in view the Telangana Formation Day which is falling on June 2 and the students has to participate in the event.
The Deputy Chief Minister said that the government was keen to give more importance for the games and extra-curricular activities. He said all the schools and other educational institutions must provide facilities and to make the arrangement for the equipment. He said that the government would fill all the vacancies of Physical Education Teacher in schools. He said if needed, the PETs would be hired on contract or outsourcing basis.
Kadiam said that the Committee which was constituted on the rise of payment of outsourcing and contract teaching and non teaching staff has submitted its recommendations suggesting a 75% hike in salaries. However, he said the final decision in this regard would be taken by Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao.
From the coming Academic year, Telugu language will be made compulsory right from Class 1 to Intermediate. For the students coming from other states, there will be different syllabus and the Education Department officials are working on it, he said
On the suicide of students, the Deputy Chief Minister said checks have been conducted in various schools and action was also initiated against some institutions.
